This page explains how the current GlucoseLog product handles information. It is a practical summary, not a substitute for a formal legal review.
The short version
GlucoseLog is built as a personal record-keeping tool. Much of the day-to-day journal you create—such as glucose entries, medication events, meals, symptoms, general notes, personal settings, and local history—lives in your browser on the device you use. Some functions need a server-side record to work, especially account access and reminders.
Information kept in your browser
The app stores your glucose entries, medication events, meals, symptoms, general notes, local preferences, PIN setting, and local journal in your browser’s local storage. Clearing browser data or moving to another device can remove or separate that local record. You can export a backup or permanently clear these records from Settings.
Information used by account access and reminders
For reminders, the service stores the email address used to confirm access, your consent record, a generic reminder type and schedule, reminder status, and browser-notification subscription data. It does not store your glucose readings, meals, symptoms, personal notes, medication names, or doses. If you connect Google Calendar, the calendar connection information is used for that separate feature.
Why that information is used
It is used to give you access to the app, keep the reminder function working, and maintain the service. We keep operational logs needed to maintain the app and respond when a scheduled reminder process fails.
Optional practical-guides email list
The free Plain Weekly Glucose Record does not require an email address. If you separately ask for occasional practical GlucoseLog and TheLaidBackPublishingCo guides, we keep only your email address, your consent timestamp and version, the offer source, and a one-way private-management-link hash. We do not put journal entries, medication details, reminders, app-access records, or health data in this list. You confirm your email before joining, and unconfirmed requests are automatically deleted when their short confirmation link expires.
Your choices
You can control local app data through the app settings and browser controls. You can manage notifications through your device and browser settings. From the reminder account area, you can export or permanently delete the service-side reminder record; that does not erase the journal held on your device. From your private practical-guides email link, you can download or permanently delete the small email-list record. Use the in-app Help area if you need to ask about account, reminder, or data-handling questions.
