What it helps with
Recording glucose readings, meals, medication events, symptoms, notes, and reminders, then reviewing the context in your own record.
About the LaidBack Diabetes Assistant
the LaidBack Diabetes Assistant is a privacy-first personal record-keeping tool from TheLaidBackPublishingCo. It gives people a calm place to record glucose readings, context, reminders, and their own observations.
the LaidBack Diabetes Assistant is not medical advice, a diagnosis service, an emergency service, or a tool for changing treatment. It helps people keep notes they can review themselves or take to a qualified health professional.
The organisation
TheLaidBackPublishingCo is an independent publishing and product-building company. The work is about making useful tools and resources that are clear enough to use on a busy day and owned enough to keep people independent.
the LaidBack Diabetes Assistant is one expression of that approach: build once, explain plainly, and put the person using the tool in control of their own record.
The founder
Andy Dries is the founder and builder behind TheLaidBackPublishingCo and the LaidBack Diabetes Assistant. He brings lived perspective, practical product-building experience, and a strong focus on tools that help people keep their independence.
Andy was raised in Newcastle, New South Wales, and considers Gunnedah, on Kamilaroi country, home. He is a Gamilaraay Murri man. That context informs the care taken with plain language, ownership, accessibility, and respectful support—but it is not presented as clinical expertise or institutional endorsement.
The product boundary
Recording glucose readings, meals, medication events, symptoms, notes, and reminders, then reviewing the context in your own record.
Local-first journal data, clear export and deletion paths, and explicit choices before account or reminder services store information.
It will not diagnose, prescribe, change dosage, prove a medical cause, or replace a qualified health professional or emergency service.
